Movie Playlists ("the App") is developed by Boli Apps. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.

Information We Collect

When you sign in, we collect the following information from your Google or Apple account:

Name
Email address
Profile picture (if provided by your sign-in provider)

We also store information you create while using the App:

Movie playlists you create, including playlist names and the movies in them
Movies you mark as watched or want-to-watch
Friend connections you establish within the App
Ratings and notes you add to movies

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the App's features:

To authenticate you and maintain your account
To save your playlists, watch history, and preferences
To enable social features such as sharing playlists with friends
To generate AI-powered movie recommendations based on your requests
To send push notifications (e.g., when a friend shares a playlist with you)

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for advertising.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services to operate:

Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple — for authentication. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Apple's Privacy Policy respectively.
The Movie Database (TMDB) — for movie metadata, images, and search. Subject to TMDB's Privacy Policy.
OpenAI — to generate playlist recommendations from your text descriptions. Your prompt text is sent to OpenAI to produce recommendations. Subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
OMDb API — for IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, and Metacritic ratings. No personal data is shared with OMDb.

Data Storage

Your account data and content are stored on servers hosted by Fly.io in the United States. Data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time (see "Delete Your Account" below).

Push Notifications

The App may send push notifications for events such as friend requests and shared playlists. You can disable notifications at any time in your device's Settings.

Delete Your Account

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the App: go to Profile → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and removes all your playlists, watch history, and friend connections from our servers.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, the revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
